Stop-Loss Pioneer and Foundational Leader of USBenefits

USBenefits Insurance Services honors the life and legacy of George Kadonada, a pioneer of the self-funded and stop-loss industry and a foundational figure of our organization.

George’s career helped shape the modern stop-loss marketplace. In 1980, he founded US Facilities, which later became the platform for one of the largest stop-loss carriers in the industry. He also helped fund the early formation of the Self-Insurance Institute of America (SIIA), supporting the growth of a national organization serving TPAs, stop-loss carriers, and the broader self-funded community. In 1998, he partnered with AIG to launch Medical Excess, further expanding innovation in medical stop-loss coverage.

In 2007, George funded and became the majority partner of USBenefits Insurance Services, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s mission, strategic direction, and long-term commitment to the self-funded market. His leadership reinforced our focus on disciplined underwriting, fair pricing, and building long-term partnerships.

Before his remarkable career in insurance, George proudly served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne, an experience that shaped his resilience, leadership and deep love of country.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, George was a devoted family man, mentor and trusted advisor. His entrepreneurial spirit, integrity, and vision continue to influence the organizations he helped build and the people inspired.

We are honored to carry forward the work he believed in and to uphold the standards he set for the self-funded and stop-loss community.
